Our Story
Welcome to our brand! We are two East Coast gals that drifted out West for the allure of sand, sun and all the happiness the Golden State has to offer. Upon visiting San Diego, we found ourselves enamored with the culture nurtured by this buzzing beach town. Finding our stride & rhythm rooted in the California way, we fell in love with surfing, skating & the incredible humans who embody the Local Drifter’s true essence.
San Diego has a special way of captivating everyone who visits; which is the way we want our brand to make you feel. We hope when you visit our home you’re drawn in the same way we were and when you purchase our products that feeling is reciprocated. During our time here, we’ve become infatuated with many local spots, creators and services that we strive to support. Our goal is to collaborate with as many partners as we can in order to give back to this amazing community.
Here’s to the summer bonfires in Ocean Beach with our best friends, the late nights spent bar hopping in Hillcrest, morning skates along Mission Bay and sunset surfs in our favorite ocean. San Diego makes everyone feel like a local. We hope you stay.

Howdy y’all. Thanks for taking the time to read my story and get to know the brand. I am originally from outside of Philadelphia but have been in San Diego for 7 years. The second I stepped foot off the plane, I knew this was going to be my home. I love the unique way that San Diego draws everyone in and makes them feel like a local.

Hey Gang. I stumbled upon San Diego by accident. When I booked my flight, I thought it would be like any other trip but I was wrong. I fell in love with everything. Especially the large LGBTQ+ scene! I thought to myself, “These peoples’ lives are a vacation.” The day I left I knew I needed to come back and make this place my home…so I did. Ocean Beach is where you can find me. Now I live in a vacation too!

The Drifter is a deeply contemplative passive being, who finds thoughts and reflections about the universe to be work that is both grounding and necessary. While they search for purpose in their experiences, they are rooted in contentment with the pleasures found in everyday life; their inner child remains very much aflame and they are constantly finding ways to stoke the fire.
The Drifter moves slowly, speaks softly and rejoices in the complexities and nuances that are the embodiment of humanity. They are knowingly imperfect, and they acknowledge the responsibility of their impact on the people, community and environment around them. The lessons expressed in actions of The Drifter are manyfold, and their adventures are replete with teachings, wisdoms and lores that inform a more conscientious path forward.
